Interior view of the Ford Bomber Plant in Willow Run, Michigan where a group of men work on airplane wings. The factory was designed by Detroit architect, Albert Kahn and was dedicated in June, 1941. "The assembly hall was 3,200 feet long and 1,280 feet wide. It featured more than 2.5 million square feet of floor space. The complex also included machine shops, runways, hangars, a power plant, a hospital and housing for the workers,"--from A Historical Perspective, by Austin Weber in Assembly Magazine (online), August 1, 2001.
