Description
Detail view of reliefs on the Venus Platform in Chichen Itza, Mexico. “The Venus platform at chichen Itza shows a Venus god whose head is enclosed in the jaws of a creature who could be the Earth Monster, but again the feet are represented as bird talons … One of the reliefs on this platform also has the Year Sign and the number eight written in Central Mexican style with a bound year bundle of reeds crowned by a trapeze-and-ray year sign, and a Mexican Venus symbol alongside,”-- Archaeoastronomy and the Maya
