"A guesthouse, Shobikan, located on the west shore of the pond, was also moved from Kyoto Gosho for the use of high-ranking guests. Viewed from across the pond, the guesthouse and bridge recreate some of the atmosphere of a traditional Shinden style mansion and garden,"--The Art of the Japanese Garden, by David Young, Michiko Young.by David Young, Michiko Young.
