Description
Detail view of window seat with metal lattice work at Casa Loma in Toronto, Ontario designed by E.J. Lennox and completed in 1914. "No expense was spared. The walls were lined with wood paneling from around the world. In many places the wood was hand-carved by master craftsmen. There were gold fixtures in the bathrooms. Plaster ceilings with intricate floral designs were in most of the rooms, small figures were built into prominent nooks and everywhere the painters and decorators provided color that highlighted the rooms,"--Casa Loma: Canada's Fairy-Tale Castle and Its Owner, Sir Henry Pellatt, by Bill Freeman.
