Description
Exterior view of the Henry and Frieda Neils house in Minneapolis, Minnesota designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and completed in 1951. "In many ways the house is typical of the so-called Usonian designs that Wright developed in the 1930s. Its L shaped, has just one story, uses a limited pallet of materials, and is planned in a way that separates what Wright called "active" and "quiet" zones. The house's main "active" area is its living room, which features a 17-foot-high vaulted ceiling and offers lake views across a walled terrace,"--AIA Guide to the Twin Cities: The Essential Source on the Architecture of Minneapolis and St. Paul, by Larry Millett.
