Description
View of grapevines with estate in background at Taliesin in Spring Green, Wisconsin designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and built starting in 1911. "From the beginning, he [Wright] envisioned Taliesin as part of the agrarian ideal, complete with farm buildings orchards, gardens and broad drives. "I saw it all, and planted it all," he wrote, "and laid the foundation of the herd, flocks, stable and fowl as I laid the foundation of the house." His love of and dedication to the farm life of his Lloyd-Jones forebears must be set beside the obvious pleasures of city life that he had discovered during his years in Chicago,"--from Frank Lloyd Wright's Taliesin and Taliesin West, by Kathryn Smith.
