Description
An account of the resource
View of Detroit Police Headquarters a nine-story building of reinforced concrete at 1300 Beaubien Street in Detroit, MI, designed by Albert Kahn and completed c. 1923. “…the Italian palazzo lends dignity and authority to a design that incorporates thoroughly modern construction methods. Here Kahn blends Renaissance details with pier and window patterns commonly found in his commercial architecture,”--AIA Detroit: The American Institute of Architects Guide to Detroit Architecture, by Eric J. Hill and John Gallagher, 2003. Handwritten on back of photograph: Police HQ Printed: Hedrich-Blessing Studio, 450 East Ohio Street, Chicago Neg. no. 8661-G2.
