Front view of sculpture entitled, "Standing Woman" by Ossip Zadkine at the Meijer Sculpture Gardens in Grand Rapids, Michigan. "“To construct a human object and represent its architecture as a totality of lines and forms,” Zadkine drew on Cubism, a movement in art history that focused on new conceptions of volume and space. His works can be found in many important permanent collections including the Tate Gallery, Museum of Modern Art, Hirshhorn Museum and the Rijkmuseum"--Meijer Sculpture Gardens.
