Detail view of two ancient pots in one of the terrace houses at Ephesus, Turkey. "In addition to the glass tableware, pottery tableware mainly consisting of plates and bowls was found together with ceramic cooking ware in all four rooms, room 14 also contained pottery amphorae … This suggests that glass tableware was stored in these rooms together with pottery tableware, and also with utilitarian or cooking ware,"--Glass of the Roman World, edited by Justine Bayley, Ian Freestone, Caroline Jackson, Oxbow Books, 2015.
