Description
Detail view of decorative stuccowork above fountain at Terrace House 6 in Ephesus, Turkey. "Most of these houses were three-storeyed, and the courtyards, in the centre measured between 25-50 metres. The courtyard was surrounded by a colonade and paved with marble. The houses had running water. There was a fountain either in the peristyle or on the side of it, and some of the houses had either a cistern or a well,"--Ephesus Ruins and Museum by Selahattin Erdemgil, NET Turistik Yayinlar, 1986.
