Description
A group of people gather in the sports field with bath house in background and portico with Doric columns along right. "The Stabian baths also included a playing field or palaestra and swimming pool. Bathing was a concise process of entering the warm room, the hot room or steam bath and the cold room with water and air heated by a central heating plant consisting of a great furnace"--HSC Ancient History, by Peter Roberts.
