Description
Interior view of wood paneling in hallway at the James and Dolores Edwards house in Okemos, Michigan designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and built in 1949. 'Brick, Tidewater cypress, asphalt shingles and concrete floors, containing gravity heat, all were Cherokee red. The Edwards dwelling is built into a hillside with its rectangular spaces on a 4-foot-square unit module. Wright usually sought a module that would allow all exterior walls to fall on grid lines or standard subdivisions thereof,"--from The Architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright: A Complete Catalog, by William Allin Storrer, Frank Lloyd Wright.
